Divisions and Categories

Who can participate in the Official categories?

  1. Those countries and organizations affiliate to the PSKF (Pan-American region only)
  2. All black belt competitors from 16 years old and up
  3. Only 2 competitors allowed per category in each weight , per COUNTRY
  4. 1 Male and 1 Female Kata Team allowed Per COUNTRY and 1 Kumite Male Team (5 to 7 competitors) and 1 Kumite Female Team (3 to 4 competitors) per COUNTRY
  5. Competitors registered in the Kata individual and team competition must be 16 years old to the completion date.
  6. Competitors registered in the Kumite individual and team competition must be 18 years old to the completion date.

Competition Rules (the 18th PSKF Shitoryu Karatedo Championships)

  1. WKF and WSKF Rules of Competition and Referee are applied to this championships (Video reviews not for consideration)
  2. All competitors are required to bring their own blue and red belts
  3. The competitor must comply with the age of the category registered on the date of competition
  4. No limitation on the number of competitors

Kumite Rules (Individual, Open and team divisions)

  1. Kumite competition time for:
    1. Male Individual, Open and Team: 3 minutes of stop time (Finals and 3rd place matches of male individuals are 4 minutes
    2. Female Individual, Open and Team: 2 minutes of stop time (Finals and 3rd place matches of male individuals are 3 minutes
  2. The victory is awarded:
    1. When one competitor scores more than 8 points in advance
    2. When one competitor’s score is higher than the other at the end of competition time
  3. Consolation match will be held (single repecharge)
  4. All competitors are required to have the official ID from the 18th Pan-American Shitoryu Kartedo Festival.
  5. All Kumite competitors are required to bring along their own protective equipments listed below:
    1. WKF or WSKF or PSKF approved (red and blue) gloves
    2. Gum shield
    3. WKF or WSKF or PSKF approved body protection for all athletes (if needed, female competitors can put on the chest protection)
    4. The shin pads (red and blue) approved by WKF or WSKF or PSKF
    5. The foot protection (red and blue) approved by WKF or WSKF or PSKF

Kata Rules (Official PSKF championships)

  1. All Kata must be the Official WSKF kata (listed below)
  2. The winner is decided a majority of 5 judges
  3. Consolation match will be held (Single repecharge for the 3rd place)
  4. All competitors are required to have the official ID from the 18th Pan-American Shitoryu Kartedo Festival.
  5. In the consolation matches, (repecharge) competitors also must not perform the same Kata already performed in the same competition
  6. In the final round of team Kata competitions, competitors must perform Bunaki after performing the Kata. Total performance time is within 6 minutes.

  • All duly completed Official Registration Forms & Official Entry Forms, Arrangement Request Forms and Summary of Payment shall be submitted to the Organizer on or before the Deadline: July 20th, 2017
